Today is good. It’s Friday, I get free lunch on my company, and I get to leave a few hours early. Then, we’re heading into the mountains for the weekend. Or at least until tomorrow
afternoon. Our church retreat is this weekend. I’m excited to get away, if even for a night. Lucy is going to stay with Brittany, and I’m sure she’ll have fun playing with Callie. First, though, she has to go to the vet this afternoon. She has to get her shots and I think she has a bacterial infection again. I’m not sure if they will do anything for it. Usually it gets better on its own. They did give her antibiotics once though, so maybe they will do that and it will make her feel better faster.
I also get free lunch today. Once a month my boss takes our department on an outing. In July we went rafting. That was fun. Usually we just go out to lunch though. Today we are going to a place called ‘Seasons.’ I’ve never been there, but Darren won’t go there because he thinks it’s too fancy for him. I’m excited to try it, though.
s Mike’s birthday. Darren’s parents are going out of town, though, so we are celebrating tonight. I’m kind of looking forward to fajitas, even though we just had some a few days ago. Mike’s birthday is the beginning of our present-buying madness season. It starts with Mike’s birthday, Sophie’s in October, Julie’s in November, then Christmas for everyone in December, Daryl, Janet and Bryce all have a birthday in January, and I have a birthday in February. Then we have a break until Darren’s in July.
book to study depending on where they were in their spirituality and what they wanted to focus on. I, as you can probably already tell, chose The Faith. I have only done one chapter in it so far, but I have already gotten a lot out of it. There was one passage we were to read from 1 Chronicles and answer a question. The question it posed was how did our view coincide or differ from that of David’s in the passage? In the passage, David was strong in his faith, thanking God for all he had done for him and given him throughout his life. I couldn’t say the same thing. I’ve been set in this mentality that whatever I have, whatever I have done, it is because I have worked for it and I have earned it for myself. Because of this, I realize that I have failed so many times in giving the credit to who it really belongs to. I often leave God out of the credits of my life, and I thank every tangible thing around me instead.
ooked. We only have one episode left for season two, but I was sad to find out we already missed season three. We’ve been watching from downloaded episodes, and apparently the actual season airs from June to August. So, we just missed season three. I’m sure Darren will download the third season, but now we have to wait until next June for season 4! I’d definitely recommend this show to anyone who likes suspense. It’s a awesome show! Check it out!
e men in our finance department is retiring the end of this month. As a retirement present, the company bought him a $500 e-card to a golf website. They wanted something to physically give him, so they asked me to make up a gift card to give to him at his party today. This is my job, so it was kind of fun creating one for someone I know. I found the cutest golfer in the process, though. I, of course, added him to the card. It was a cute graphic I had to share, but it also made me miss golf. I didn’t go at all this summer. Maybe if it stays warm enough, I can talk Darren into going with me this weekend.
