homeless keanu?

Life’s been busy. I got another couple of photos accepted into my portfolio today, which was cool. By the end of the quarter, I should have around 10 total (5 sets).

I had to create a short film for my video class, so Karla and I went down the the barnes and noble to shoot that tonight. Interesting. They are pretty much crap, but as long as we pass the class, I’m ok. I’m not sure why it’s even required, but if I can pass it and gradutate and never have to take it again, all is fine with me. We’ll see how they turn out in class on Friday.

Tomorrow night, my fiends, Dana, Michael and I are going to and Eric Hutchinson concert. I’m pretty excited about it, actually. I haven’t heard a lot of his stuff, but what I have heard I love, and Dana is almost obsessed. Should be fun. Darren isn’t going with us. He’s going with his friend, Ian, to a whiskey tasting. Yuck! I hate whiskey. I hope he has fun though.

On the funny side, as I was walking home tonight, I passed by a homeless man that, only on second glance, did I realize he was in fact not Keanu Reeves. Scary.

I’m tired, though, so I’ll just leave you with a cute photo. This one’s for you Kelli… and remind me to send them all to you soon!

websites and running buddies

I couldn’t be more excited right now. Things are definitely falling into place! I worked over the weekend to get my website at least half-way live, and it’s finally there!

www.barbarahinderer.com is now the new official kick-off site for Barbara Hinderer Photography!

There isn’t a whole lot there yet… (the gallery links don’t work!) but the basic information is there. I should have the gallery links up and sort of working within the next week or two. I’ll keep you posted.

In other news, I finally found a running buddy! My friend, Dana, and I are starting to run in the mornings. I’m going to have to train myself to get up super early (at 5:45!) We’re training for the BoulderBoulder. Then I’m also going to do the McDonalds 8K again next year. Wish me luck!

halloween and other goodness

Wow. I can’t believe it’s already November. This year is just going by so fast!

October went by in a blur. Not a lot happened. I did a lot of homework, sleeping, reading, schooling, working. You know, the usual.

New classes are good. I only hate one, and I’ve learned I definitely do NOT want to shoot architecture. But at least my architecture class is interesting. I started my portfolio classes this quarter. (I’ve already put a few of the pictures up at bhphotography.wordpress.com if you’d like to see some of the images.) It’s been fun, and I’m definitely enjoying it. Soon, I’ll get to start working on my fine art! I’m also taking advertising which has definitely been fun.

I’m also taking my first business class this quarter. It’s been tiring, but a lot of fun! I finally got my business cards ordered, and by the end of the year, Barbara Hinderer Photography will be officially established! I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve already started working on my business plan, and I’m applying for an EIN. Scary to think I’ll actually be a business owner at 24, even if I’m not quite making money at it yet… only a little here and there.

I’ve made a lot of good contacts, too. After graduation, D and I are looking into moving to either Portland or Seattle. I’ve contacted some of the photographers there, and they’ve been super helpful.

Elsewhere, halloween came and went. We did get dressed up and made an appearance at my friends party. Everyone LOVED D’s costume. Check us out:

Lucy even dressed up! Although, she looks as though she doesn’t appreciate it much… oh, well. Maybe next year?!
